How does xBase/Mediator application work?

xBase/Mediator application, instead of reading the data from DBF sets, sends a query to Mediator server. The server communicates with SQL database and sends the answer back to the application. xBase/Mediator application works in client-server architecture; data operating (selection, sorting, index operating) takes place on the server, and the presentation - on workstations.
